I made Earl Grey tea donuts, gluten free!

20190329_204431I’m basically blogging this recipe for my own benefit, so I can come back and find it – my printer’s broken, so I can’t print it out and add it to my recipe folder! However, these Earl Grey tea donuts are really super delicious, so give them a try if you can!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups plain gluten free flour (as always, I suggest White Wings, but Aldi’s brand is also good)

1/2 cup sugar

20190329_205740.jpg1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder (or 1/2 teaspoon baking soda)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 Earl Grey teabag, cut open, just tip the dried tea straight in

1/3 cup melted butter

1/2 cup buttermilk, OR 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar and enough milk to make up the rest of the half cup

1 egg or egg replacer

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method:

In one bowl, mix all the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, tea).

In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients (melted butter, buttermilk/vinegar and milk mix, egg, vanilla extract).

Mix them all together.

Either cook in a donut maker, as pictured, for 7 minutes, or bake at 180 Celsius (350 Fahrenheit) for 10-12 minutes.
